The important dates to note approaching the AGM:
Saturday – August 30 | The date of the AGM will be notified by announcement on the IM24CA website not less than 85 days before the date of the meeting. |
Tuesday – September 30 Deadline is extended by 4 days due to the World Championship | Motions and nominations to be proposed at the AGM shall be submitted to the International Secretary/Administrator not less than 8 weeks (56 days) before the date of the said AGM |

Friday - October 10 | The Secretary/Administrator shall distribute an Agenda of all motions, nominations and relevant paperwork for the AGM not later than 6 weeks before the date of the said AGM. |
Friday – October 24 | Amendments to the above motions shall be submitted no later than 4 weeks before the date of the said AGM. |
Friday - October 31 | The Secretary/Administrator shall distribute an attachment to the Agenda of any such amendments not later than 3 weeks before the date of the said AGM. |
Saturday – November 8 | The Secretary/Administrator must publish the voting totals by country subject to timely receipt of payment |
Saturday – November 15 | FINAL deadline for dues payments |
Saturday – November 22 | AGM 2025 – HYBRID - Milan and Zoom |
Deadlines and Submissions for the 2025 AGM
First Deadline – September 30, 2025
Motions and nominations to be proposed at the AGM must be submitted to the Class Administrator, Piret Salmistu (piret@melges24.com), no later than 8 weeks (56 days) before the AGM. For this year, the deadline has been extended by four days, making the closing date September 30.
Who may submit proposals:
Motions, amendments, and nominations for the AGM may only be submitted by: The Executive Committee, National Class Associations (NCAs), The Technical Committee, World Sailing
If you have a proposal you would like to be considered at the AGM, please contact your NCA Officers as soon as possible and ask them to review and submit it on your behalf before the closing date.
Topics for submissions may include:
Constitution, Future Events, Class Rules, Technical issues, Regatta Regulations, General policies, Nominations for officers
Elections at the 2025 AGM
Four Executive Committee positions will be open for election at the AGM. According to the IM24CA Constitution §5, the following positions are due:
Chair – Laura Grondin was elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2022 (two consecutive 3-year terms). Term limits are set at two consecutive terms in the same officer position, a position up for election
Vice Chair (US) – Chelsea Simms, elected in 2022 for a 3-year term, position up for election.
Member (US) – Scot Zimmerman, elected in 2022 for a 3-year term, position up for election.
Member (Europe) – Michael Tarabochia, elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2022 (two consecutive 3-year terms). Term-limited at the conclusion of this term, position up for election

Future Championship Bids
Bids are now open for future events:
World Championships – from 2027 onwards (rotation: 2027 – Europe, 2028 – North America, and so forth).
Croatia has already expressed a strong interest in hosting the 2027 Worlds.
European Championships – from 2027 onwards.
North American Championships – from 2027 onwards.
For these NCA’s interested in bidding, the Event Regulations are available at the IM24CA website.
Housekeeping
NOTE: Nations are asked to confirm the name of their representatives or proxies and any observers to the Class Administrator, Piret Salmistu, at piret@melges24.com as soon as possible, but before the AGM on November 21.
If a World Council Member cannot attend a meeting, his NCA may appoint a substitute for that meeting only. Such designations shall be in writing and received by the Treasurer/Administrator of the IM24CA before the meeting. Each NCA must inform the IM24CA Treasurer/Administrator of the name of their appointed World Council member or proxy substitute before the start of the AGM.
