The International Melges 24 Class will be racing its first Southern Hemisphere World Championship from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club in Victoria, Australia from 27 January to 2 February 2014. You still have time to enter to this historical event – closing time to enter is December 27th.
At the 2013 IMCA World Council AGM the rule change proposal to reduce the height of the stanchions (already approved in outline at the 2012 AGM) was ratified.Subject to approval by ISAF this rule change will be introduced on 1 January 2014. NEW RULEH.2.
After nineteen years with the Melges 24 class, the current Administrator Fiona Brown announced her retirement from the class after the European Championship in Medemblik this August. The new IMCA Administrator and Media Coordinator will be Piret Salmistu from Tallinn, Estonia.
The Minutes of the 2013 International Melges 24 Class Association World Council AGM are now published online. With 28 delegates attending the meeting in Budapest Hungary, it was one of the best attended AGMs ever.
