San Francisco, Calif. - Nine Melges 24 teams took to the waters of San Francisco Bay last weekend to participate in the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex Big Boat Series.
Melges 24 Estonian Championship 2014 was held in Kalev Yacht Club, Tallinn on September 12-14. The fleet was small - 5 boats from Estonia and Finland – but the racing was tight and exciting. Altogether 7 races were sailed during 3 racing days.
The 2014 International Melges 24 Class Association World Council AGM will take place on Saturday 6 December 2014 in Milan, Italy. National Class Associations are reminded that the deadline for submission of nominations and proposals is Friday 10 October.
Melges 24 Norwegian Open Championship 2014 was held on September 5-7 in Larvik Norway Yacht Club. Norwegian Opens welcomed the great fleet of 29 boats from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Altogether 11 races were sailed during 3 racing days.
A total of 20 teams were racing, six-seven out of them were very challenging, just to name a few we have Rossini-Favini's Blu Moon, the standing European and World Leader, Wadadli, helmed by the continental champion Matteo Ivaldi, Giogi with couple Balestrero-Celon, Maidollis, helmed by Olympian Gab
The final event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series will be held at the Delta Lloyd Open Dutch Championships in Medemblik, the Netherlands on September 19-21. It will be a competitive and great event with already 19 Melges 24 boats from 6 different countries and with social events to join.
