Its 1425 and the Race Committee has decided to send the fleets from both courses back ashore to await further instructions. There's still no wind in the race area and with a hot sun beating down it was felt safest to get the crews back to harbour before sunstroke and dehydration started to set in.

Porto Cervo, 1 June 2008 - The Volvo Melges 24 World Championship, hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, got off to a challenging start today with the 114 strong fleet from 16 nations completing two of twelve scheduled races.
