Day one of the 2011 Italian Open Melges 24 Championship and Volvo Cup regatta brought warm sun, good winds and three good if demanding races. The day started with a short delay as the wind built and settled and the first race was run a little closer inshore.

San Diego, California, 6 April 2011 – San Diego Yacht Club was proud to host the second stop of the Melges California Cup (http://www.california-cup.com) this past weekend. Thirteen boats made the trip from across California, and as far away as Mexico and Utah.
The emerging Melges 24 fleet in Chile is urgently looking for at least two good second hand boats and is particularly interested in purchasing boats following the 2011 Melges 24 Worlds in Corpus Christi.
