Nigel Young of North Sails reports from the Michel Herbelin sponsored French Open National Championship held from 28 June - 1 July in Brittany, France. I am travelling back from Le Crouesty in the North west of France having just competed in the French National Championships.
The Melges Class was not only the largest One Design Class at North Sails Race Week it was also the most competitive. You do not need to take my word for it - the Regatta organizers voted it most competitive, an accolade usually reserved for the larger boats.

With 20 entries the Melges 24 class will be the biggest at this year's North Sails Race Week. Raced in the beautiful waters off Long Beach, California, this 3 day event (22-24 June) attracts top competitors from around the world in a wide range of classes.
