Twenty-six teams assembled in Muskegon, Michigan for the opening regatta of the Quantum Great Lakes Cup Series. “It was a great event with big fleet racing,” said Scot Zimmerman, owner of Bad Idea who travelled from Traverse City to compete.

The weekend got off to a somber start as the U.S. Melges 24 Class recognized the peaceful passing of Buddy Melges on Thursday, May 18. In gratitude, the Bad Idea hull was adorned with a sticker in tribute to the legend.

Canada’s Greg Chamberlain’s Huzzah rounded out the top five overall.

A massive thanks to all the teams that participated, Series title sponsor Quantum Sails and the Muskegon Yacht Club event organizer Josh Wallace, the race committee and all the volunteers that made this weekend the best!
