Riva del Garda is calling Melges 24 sailors

June 13, 2022 - Riva del Garda, Italy - Melges 24 international fleet will return to Garda Lake, where between Friday and Sunday July 22 and 24, the fourth event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series, considered also Act 3 of the Italian Melges24Tour is scheduled in Riva del Garda.

The racecourse of Riva del Garda, as a very popular venue for the Melges 24 teams, will once again be the scene of this traditional challenge to define the event winner. In July 2021 the event in Riva was won by Estonian entry Lenny, led by Tõnu Tõniste, and in August, German Peter Karrié’s team Nefeli was unbeatable.

For this year’s event a great competition will be expected since the current entry list sees already 2021 Melges 24 European Champion Altea of Andrea Racchelli; Michael Goldfarb’s War Canoe from US, who was the first team to miss the podium at the 2021 Europeans; Peter Karrié’s Nefeli, the best non-US team at the recent 2022 Worlds in Fort Lauderdale, finishing ninth; Hungarian Akos Csolto, the winner of recent event in Trieste, on his new boat Chinook #850.

Looking forward to a great turnout on the road to Melges 24 Europeans to be held in Genova in October.
