IM24CA: You have built a fearsome reputation as a one-design sailor, particularly in the last few years in the Melges 24 class. Can you describe the highlights of your sailing career so far? LB: I've sailed almost all my life.
The 2009 Melges 24 World Ranking Series, which featured 26 events, 13 in North America and 13 in Europe, attracted a near record entry of 366 competitors despite the global economic downturn.
The days may be getting short and the temperatures dropping in Europe but that's not going to stop the German Melges 24 teams from getting out on the water and enjoying some fun racing. This weekend they've been taking part in the Bericht von der Nikolausregatta 2009 in Sonwik.
At it's Annual Genera Meeting on 14 November 2009 the IMCA World Councilapproved a change to the IMCA Constitution to enable the class to call an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the World Council (see details on page 11 of the AGM minutes - Constitution points 10.7 - 10.7.3).
