Zingara wins 2022 Melges 24 Grand Traverse Invitational
August 22, 2022 - Grand Traverse, US - 2022 Melges 24 Grand Traverse Invitational with a participation of 20 Melges 24s from US and Canada, was organised and hosted by the Grand Traverse Yacht Club over the weekend of August 20-21.
Seven races were sailed dominated by Canadian team ZINGARA (CAN853) of Richard Reid with Ian Sloan, Chris Watters, Cole Brauer and Brian Kamilar in crew - with 6 straight scores and one second result ZINGARA collected 7 points in total and grabbed an overwhelming victory of the regatta.
Midwest District Governor Chelsea Simms helming her STRAIGHTARROW (USA830) with Stephanie Dow, Scott Ewing, George Peet and Logan Stanley in crew, scored 3-5-4-3-2-2 and 19 points in total to finish the regatta second on the podium.
The podium was completed by Fred Rozelle’s RUSTLER (USA510), who finished just one point behind second with a score of 2-1-5-4-5-3.
