Melges 24 Teams Deliver Stellar Racing at Grundig Hankø Race Week
29 June, 2025 - Hankø, Norway - Over three action-packed days, the Melges 24 fleet lit up the waters of Hankø for the second event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2025, held as part of the iconic Grundig Hankø Race Week. With 17 Norwegian teams on the starting line and six races completed, the event was a perfect display of close one-design competition and world-class sailing conditions.
The standout performance of the regatta came from NOR 600 – Team Bagdad Prospects, led by Hans Herman Nergaard, with crew Alexander Hylen Klippenberg, Jacob Undrum, Tomas Mathisen, and Emil Bauck. Showing strength across a range of conditions, the team posted an impressive scoreline of 1–2–2–(4)–1–2, ending the event with 8 net points and taking home the overall win.
Second place went to 2024’s Hankø champions, NOR 751 “Storm Capital”. Helmed by Peder Jahre and crewed by Lillan Agerup, Marius Falch Orvin, Sivert Denneche, and Pål Tønnesson, the team sailed a strong series (2, 1, 1, 3, [5], 5) to finish just four points behind the leaders.
Third on the podium was NOR 732 “Rett Rundt Hjørnet”, skippered by Herman Horn-Johannessen, with a skilled crew including Jan Frederik Dyvi, Erik V. Fusdal, Stian Ness Rørvik, and Malin Rørvik-Sundeling. Their 17-point scoreline showed consistent improvement throughout the series.

Grundig Hanko Race Week once again proved itself as a cornerstone of the Norwegian Melges 24 calendar — a perfect mix of competitive spirit, camaraderie, and summer sailing vibes.
With sights set on the Melges 24 World Championship in Trieste this September, Hanko also marked the beginning of the #RoadtoTønsberg2026, where Norway will proudly host the 2026 Melges 24 European Championship.
