Melges 24 Class Rules FAQ updated
14 August 2026 - Questions about applying the Melges 24 Class Rules frequently arise among sailors, coaches and race officials. To make the relevant guidance easier to find, the International Melges 24 Class Association has updated its online FAQ section with clarifications from the IM24CA Technical Committee.
The FAQ addresses practical topics encountered at regattas, including mast-step alignment, forestay adjustments, crew movement during tacks and gybes, permitted sails, support boats, bowsprit use, hiking, keel-box fairing and stanchions.
Teams are encouraged to review the guidance while preparing for their next Melges 24 class event or title championship. Race committees and event officials may also use the section as a quick reference when common questions arise.
The FAQ provides supporting clarification, while the current Melges 24 Class Rules and applicable event documents remain authoritative.
