Entry Open for the Marina Portorož Melges 24 Regatta - 3rd Event of the 2020 Melges 24 European Sailing Series
August 24, 2020 - Portoroz, Slovenia - Melges 24 fleet continues its path back to normality with Marina Portorož Melges 24 Regatta set to go ahead in Portorož (Slovenia) over 10 to 13 September. After starting the season of the 2020 Melges 24 European Sailing Series in Torbole, Italy late in August and having the 2nd event of the series on Attersee in Austria at the end of August, Marina Portorož Melges 24 Regatta is the 3rd event of the European series.
The organising authority has already published the Notice of Race and invites entries from owners and charterers to race on the waters of the Gulf of Piran.
To keep the staff and sailors safe, we will put in place some precautionary measures and adapt the registration and measurement procedures so as to respect physical distancing. A limited number of people will be allowed to enter the race office. Also, to comply with the National Institute of Public Health current guidelines, adjustments will be made to the awards ceremony.
Running an international event under Covid-19 constraints means we all have to learn to do things differently, however we are determined to familiarise with these new arrangements and will do our best to get as many Melges 24 teams sailing back to Portorož again.
