2026 IM24CA Annual General Meeting – Submissions Published

Dear World Council members of the International Melges 24 Class Association,

I look forward to our next Annual General Meeting in November, when we will come together to discuss matters important to our class and its members.

This year, the AGM will be held again as a hybrid meeting on Saturday, November 14, 2026. We will meet in person in Milan, while those unable to travel can join us via Zoom. The meeting will be open to all NCAs and Executive Committee members.

In preparation, our Technical Committee will have an open meeting on Thursday, October 8 at 3:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM in Central Europe (CEST).  During that session, the committee will review and explain proposals for changes to the Class Rules and General Policies, along with other key topics. All NCA’s and interested persons are welcome to participate. 

The meeting will cover submitted Class Rule change proposals, as well as topics for general discussion.

The Agenda and all submissions received for discussion and voting at the 2026 IM24CA Annual General Meeting of World Council are now published on the IM24CA website. The AGM will be held as a hybrid meeting, welcoming delegates in person in Milan and online via Zoom, on Saturday, November 14, 2026. All relevant paperwork, including proposals and future event bids, is available at https://www.melges24.com/agm2026.

The AGM agenda also includes the annual approval of the appointment of the Technical Committee Chair. The Executive Committee proposes that Mike Gozzard (CAN) continue in his role as Chair of the IM24CA Technical Committee. Mike was first appointed to this position at the AGM in November 2019 and has been reappointed each year since then. His technical knowledge, practical approach, and commitment to class integrity have been instrumental in guiding the class through complex technical discussions and rule development.

Regarding future championships, IM24CA has received the following event bids and expressions of interest:

2027 North American Championship - Formal bid from Canada

  • Proposed venue: CORK regatta site, Kingston, Ontario, Canada
  • Proposed dates: Friday, 25 June to Sunday, 27 June 2027

2028 European Championship - Formal bid from Italy

  • Proposed venue: Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, Italy
  • Proposed timing: June or September 2028

2029 World Championship - Intention to bid from Italy

  • Proposed venue: Yacht Club Italiano, Genoa, Italy

Technical Committee will have an open meeting on Thursday, October 8 at 3:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM in Central Europe (CEST). Meeting details will be published on Monday, October 5, on the IM24CA website and distributed to all NCAs.

  • October 16 - Amendments deadline - Amendments to the published motions shall be submitted no later than 4 weeks before the date of the said AGM.
  • November 7 - Final deadline for dues payments - the class will start issuing the due invoices shortly. NCA’s - please make sure that your lists of members are correct on the IM24CA website https://www.melges24.com/members
