White Room in the Lead at the Melges 24 European Sailing Series Attersee Regatta After Day Two
1 June 2024 - Attersee, Austria - The first two days of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series' Regatta Attersee have come to an end, marked by adverse weather conditions that did not spare the participants. Uninterrupted rain was the backdrop to the races, but did not prevent the scheduled races from taking place.
On the first day, the boats fought fiercely, competing in three races. The intensity escalated on the second day, with four races being contested in winds that reached a challenging 6-8 m/s, truly testing the sailors’ mettle.
After two days of close racing, the partial ranking sees the German Michael Tarabochia's 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢 GER 677 crew in the lead with 6 points, demonstrating considerable superiority over their opponents. They are followed in second and third place by the Austrian crews of Michael Schineis' 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙚 AUT 716 and 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙮 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣 AUT752 of Norbert Voith, both with 21 points. In fourth place, again Austria - Michael Luschan's 𝘼𝙐𝙏 502 with 22 points, while in fifth place is 𝙊𝙍𝘾𝘼 AUT 837 of Helmut Gottwald with 29 points.
Tomorrow's final day will be decisive in determining the final ranking and proclaiming the winner of this exciting edition of the Regatta Attersee Melges24 European Sailing Series and Melges 24 Austrian Championship.
