Musto Millet Ski-Yachting 2009

The Norwegian Class invites you to join them for the combined ski and sailing competition in Oslo, Norway, on the 17th and 18th of April 2009.  In collaboration with Aqua Terra, Melges Norway and KNS (The Royal Norwegian Yacht Club), Norway welcomes Melges 24 sailors and 11 Meter sailors to the Musto Millet Ski-Yachting competition 2009.

The Musto Millet Ski-Yachting competition is being held for the thirteenth time in Norway.  This unique event, which marks the end of the skiing season and the opening of the sailing season, unites great alpinists and sailors in a spectacular competition both on the snow and on the water.  To enter this competition, each crew must consist of at least one female member. In order to win this competition, the team must do well both on the slalom slopes on Friday afternoon, and in the fleet race in the Melges 24 on Saturday.

The recent decades have gathered the whole Norwegian skiing team on the start line, among them famous skiers such as Aksel Lund Svindal, Kjetil André Aamot, Lasse Kjus and Hans Petter Buraas.  The triple Olympic Gold medalist, Lasse Kjus, says the skiing competition is on a very high level, and utters "I'm happy if I am among the ten best skiers on the skiing result list!"

Also the best Melges 24 sailing teams of Norway participate in this spectacular competition, among them Olympic medalist Herman Horn-Johannessen and his crew, Worlds 2008 Corinthian winner Øyvind Peder Jahre and his crew, and of course many more of the best Norwegian Melges teams.

On Saturday evening, there will be a huge dinner party for all the participants at Roklubben in Huk Aveny, Bygdøy, Oslo (close to KNS and the sailing area). This party is very popular and known for being a lot of fun, and at this dinner party the winners will receive their trophies.

Schedule:
Slalom at Tryvann, Oslo, on Friday 17. April at 4 pm.
Fleet Race at Bundefjorden, Oslo, Saturday 18. April at 12 am.
