Arpad Litkey Wins Open Slovenian Championship

19 boats from 7 nations (6 x SLO, 5 x AUT. 4 x HUN and 1 x CZE. ITA, SVK & GER) showed up at the Open Slovenian Championship 2010 sailed on the waters of Porto Roz.

Friday was perfect to reminisce on a great season 2010 during the long and dark winter months.  4 races in 15 - 20 knots, sometimes even a little more enabled perfect Melge24 sailing. Back at the docks the competitor's were served Pizza and beer for free.

Saturday were sailed 3 more races in lighter wind and partly covered sky - the day closed with Pasta and more beer.

During Saturday night a strong Bora established and the competitors "enjoyed" 35 knots wind and some rain. The race committee decided not to start any races in these conditions.  Therefor the Saturday results were the final one.

Congratulations to Arpad Litkey and his crew winning the event sailing HUN 767 "The Virus", second place for the best Austrian Crew AUT 406 "Fraz Rocks" helmed by Christoph Skolaut, third place went to ITA 766 "24ever" helmed by Pablo Soldano.

The 4th placed team SLO 636 "Paikea" had some bad luck on Friday by damaging material and missing 2 races - but by scoring 2 wins and 3 second places in the races left showed their possibilities.

The competitors enjoyed a well organised race and class president Branko Parunov did all efforts to make their stay there as convenient as possible.
