Last weekend the annual Delta Lloyd North Sea Regatta was sailed of the coast of the Hague in the Netherlands. The challenging location on the North Sea coast with tidal waters make it a special event for every sailor.
With three weeks left to go the 2012 Melges24 US Nationals has registered more than 30 boats. “They are coming from all over”, says Seattle Fleet Captain Keith Hammer.
Last weekend's Volvo Cup event in Scarlino brought 34 boats from 8 nations to the line for a challenging weekend of racing. The winds ranged from 6 to 14 knots and were very shifty thanks to a weather system which was crossing the region through the regatta.

With 36 boats from 9 nations the second leg of the 2012 Melges 24 Volvo Cup, held in Lerici, proved to be as challenging as ever. The skies were sunny and the temperature was up at 27° C but sadly the wind was very weak and as a result only three very light and shifty races could be completed.
