The countdown for the start of the Melges 24 World Championship is quickly approaching zero.
Along with the fight for the overall title, that will involve at least ten very strong crews and a good number of outsiders, the 2012 Melges 24 World Championship in Torbole, the stage will also be set for another battle: the one aimed at the conquest of the Corinthian title.
Torbole, one of the venues most appreciated by the Melges 24's specialists, is preparing for what promises to be perhaps the most important event in the history of the one design produced by Melges Performance Sailboats.
With 65 boats from17 nations taking part last weekend's Volvo Cup in Riva, the final event in this year's Melges 24 Volvo Cup series, was the perfect warm up event for the forthcoming Melges 24 World Championship.
Mr Antony Matusch of the ISAF Classification Commission will be attending the 2012 Melges 24 World Championship and will be conducting review interviews with selected Corinthian sailors during registration.
The final deadline for submission of complete crew lists (with ISAF ID, Classification Number and Expiry Date) is midnight tonight (Friday 29 June). If you plan to sail Corinthian but have not yet submitted your full crew list you must take action immediately.
