It was yet another grand day on the water for the Melges 24 fleet atBacardi Miami Sailing Week (BMSW). Four more races were added to the scoreboard with Flavio Favini at the helm of Franco Rossini'sBlu Moonhanging on for first overall.

ISAF has now confirmed that the requested changes to Melges 24 Class Rules G.4.2 (jib zip luff), C.7.2 (rear gate line deflection) and C.4 (advertising) have been approved to come into force on 15 March 2012.

Melges 24 sailors are reminded that the change to Class Rule 2.2 governing crew weights will not come into force until 15 March 2012.
At the IMCA AGM on 19 November 2011 the World Council voted to revise ruleC.7.2.(A)(5) to reduce the hiking line deflection. Although the principle of this rule change was agreed, the exact amount of deflection, if any, could not be decided without further testing.
