Second day of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series regatta in Portorož has been dominated by light winds. Slowly but surely, the sea breeze started appearing in the bay of Piran around noon providing the fleet of 24 monotypes another great day of racing.
The opening day of Melges 24 European Sailing Series in Portorož was blessed with sunshine and steady wind. After the relaxing morning in the marina, sailors hit the water at noon to sail their first races.
With only one day to go to the start of the first stage of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series, a truly international cast is making ready to take the centre stage in the beautiful bay of Portorož, Slovenia.
The Notice of Race for the European Sailing Series 2014 has been published confirming the events and scoring system to be used for this year's European Ranking. The first event of the Sailing Series will be held in Portorož, Slovenia this weekend. 26 boats from 11 countries on the entry list.
In cooperation with some of the most active Slovenian clubs MonoCup Sailing Series events will be held in Slovenia and Austria during the season 2014. There will be four MonoCup regattas, Slovenian Open Nationals and Austrian Open Nationals to complete the series.
Royal Victoria Yacht Club invites all Melges 24 sailors to join them for breeze and history at the inaugural West-Coast2014 Melges 24 Canadian Nationals (June 13-15). This regatta is co-hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club (RVYC)and the Canadian Forces Sailing Association (CFSA).
