Dutc Open Championship 2014

September 19, Medemblik, Holland - Dutch Open Championship - the final stage of the European Melges 24 Sailing Series 2014 will start in few hours. 25 teams are representing eight countries: Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ukraine and Italy.

The event is framed in the Dutch Open Championship, an event that involves a substantial number of classes, including one design boats and dinghies, and with them a few hundred sailors. 

In Only 2 Weeks - The Genoa International Boat Show

The Genoa International Boat Show will be hosting the “Medal Race” finals of the Audi tron Sailing Series in the unprecedented Team Race formula from the 3rd – 5th October. TAKE A CHANCE TO TAKE PART OF IT!

Each team will consist of a Melges 32, a Melges 24 and a Melges 20 boat which will be berthed at the latest exhibition area, in the heart of the Sailing world, dedicated exclusively to the yachts which also includes the unique Audi tron Sailing Series Hospitality.  


San Francisco, Calif. - Nine Melges 24 teams took to the waters of San Francisco Bay last weekend to participate in the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex Big Boat Series. The fleet enjoyed three days of classic San Francisco racing conditions with top honors going to 2012 Melges 24 North American and 2013 Melges 24 World Champion (both in Corinthian division) Don Jesberg on Viva.

Melges 24 Estonian Championship 2014 was held in Kalev Yacht Club, Tallinn on September 12-14. The fleet was small - 5 boats from Estonia and Finland – but the racing was tight and exciting. Altogether 7 races were sailed during 3 racing days.

IMCA World Council AGM 2014 Confirmed For 6 December In Milan

The 2014 International Melges 24 Class Association World Council AGM will take place on Saturday 6 December 2014 in Milan, Italy.  

National Class Associations are reminded that the deadline for submission of nominations and proposals is Friday 10 October.

Melges 24 Norwegian Opens 2014

Melges 24 Norwegian Open Championship 2014 was held on September 5-7 in Larvik Norway Yacht Club. Norwegian Opens welcomed the great fleet of 29 boats from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Altogether 11 races were sailed during 3 racing days.

Sanremo, September 7th 2014 – Melges 24 Italian Open Championship took place in Sanremo on September 4-7, 2014. A total of 20 teams were racing, six-seven out of them were very challenging, just to name a few we have Rossini-Favini's Blu Moon, the standing European and World Leader, Wadadli, helmed by the continental champion Matteo Ivaldi, Giogi with couple Balestrero-Celon, Maidollis, helmed by Olympian Gabrio Zandonà and the always competitive Andrea Racchelli's Altea.

Delta Lloyd Open Dutch Championships

The final event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series will be held at the Delta Lloyd Open Dutch Championships in Medemblik, the Netherlands on September 19-21. It will be a competitive and great event with already 19 Melges 24 boats from 6 different countries and with social events to join. 

Melges 24 Danish Nationals

After 3 days of race in Frederikshavn in the northern part of Denmark, Team Soffe and Kim Christensen in DEN 782 made a solid win after having secured 6 first place finishes in a total of 8 races. The team started out securing a win in the first 5 races and it was therefore for the others to compete for the silver medal. Melges 24 Danish Nationals were held on August 22-24.
