SAMI ECKBLAD WINS FINNISH RANKING
The Finnish Melges 24 ranking was completed after the final event at the beginning of October. In the final regatta Jaguar X-Type had a clear lead after saturday, and the team secured the regatta victory by winning one start today and being second in the other two starts.
The race for second place was more tight. Henri Jefimoff's team, Tomi Hakolas Pohjola-Fonecta Finder and Esa Harjulahtis Jaguar S-Type all had good possibilites. Henri Jefimoff had a very solid day and he won the first start. He managed to get one point ahead of Pohjola Fonecta Finder. Samuel Thesleff won the second start and dropped the Jaguar S-Type to the 5th place in the final results.
In the 2005 Finnish Ranking Series Jaguar X-Type had secured its fourth ranking victory already in Espoo, but for Pohjola-Fonecta Finder and Jaguar S-Type this was the decisive event. The third place at the Finnish Melges 24 ranking finals was enough for Tomi Hakola to take the second place in ranking list.
