REGISTRATION COMPLETED BUT PRACTICE RACE A NON-STARTER IN TORQUAY

After three days of frenetic activity 50 crews and boats from 10 nations have all been weighed, measured, inspected and stamped and are set to commence battle for the Ocean BMW Melges 24 European Championship 2005 tomorrow.

The Race Committee attempted to run a practise race today but were dogged by extremely light and shifty airs. Eventually after 3 hours of postponement they sent the crews home.

This evening the Royal Torbay Yacht Club is hosting a Commodore's Reception to welcome competitors. Racing is scheduled to start at 11am tomorrow and the forecast is for sunshine with 10 knots from the south west so hopefully we will be in for a good opening day.
