Melges 24 Italian Championship in Scarlino: the title goes to Giogi of Matteo Balestrero. Maitech is the first Corinthian

Giogi helmed by Matteo Balestrero, with the former world champion Nico Celon calling tatctics, conqueres in the light wind of Scarlino ­Tuscany at the Melges 24 Italian Open National Championship 2013.
 
The spectalur event, with more than 30 boats coming from eleven Nations on the starting line of the Campionships organized by Club Nautico Scarlino, crowned Ballestrero¹s team (together with Davide di Maio, Cristiano Giannetti and Simona Benelli) after 8 races were completed.
 
 
Giogi showed off a consistent speed and higher performances throughout the weekend raced in very light wind conditions (2-4-9-1-2-12-6-7 as partials). The second place went to Altea of Andrea Racchelli with the podium completed by Gianluca Perego's Maidollis (with Giovanni Pizzati on helm and Niccolò Bianchi calling tactics).  Fourth place for EFG Bank, the boat helmed by Chris Rast. Fifth position for Maitech owned by Claudio Ceradini with Andrea Pardini on helm, who grabs the title in the Corithian division title.
 
 
The Melges 24 fleet once again demonstrates its vitality in a great regatta wich saw strong duels and top level perfomances with great
champions on the water (Nicola Celon, Flavio Favini) competing side by side with some new comers and corinthians crews.
