Dear Melges 24 Sailors:

I trust your summer racing season has been a good one.

Here at Premiere Racing, we’re focused on promoting and planning the 25th Anniversary race week in beautiful Key West. Regatta dates are January 15 – 20. Our sincere thanks to Quantum Sail Design Group for stepping up as title sponsor for the 2012 edition!

I hope that Key West Race Week is on your winter calendar. The Melges 24 class has been an important part of the event for many years. 2012 has been again designated your Midwinter Championship.

We know that traveling to Key West is no piece of cake. We really appreciate our overseas entrants and know that you are a huge asset to this regatta. We’ll continue to make every effort to ensure that you have a full week of racing and shoreside fun in Key West.

If you have not done so already, you'll be doing the event and your class members a favor if you could let us know your plans. Whether you are definitely planning to come, possibly coming or won't be able to make it, we'd really appreciate hearing from you.

The NOR and entry applications are posted and you may enter online through the YachtScoring system. Please note that you can register now and make your payment later.

We'll update your class’ entries on the web site as we hear from you or as you submit your entry directly. As you all know, seeing good competition shaping up encourages more entries.

We’ll continue to post updates and details on logistics and expense savings on the event web site. The early entry discount ($100 off paid entries submitted by October 15), no advertising (Cat C) fee, and new this year, we have eliminated cards and fees for access to the evening socials and award ceremonies. For those of you that utilize the Truman Waterfront Property (Navy Basin), we’re keeping fees at last year’s discounted levels.

The new shoreside party venue was well received last year and we’re looking forward to another fun and exciting week both shoreside and on the race course.
