Gulari Still Leading Going Into Final Day Of Key West

Bora Gulari aboard West Marine Rigging/New England Ropesadded two more bullets to his collection on Thursday, discarding his worst finish – a sixth, to maintain a very strong lead in the Melges 24 fleet at Quantum Key West 2012. The battle between Alan Field's WTF and Flavio Favini at the helm of Franco Rossini’s Blu Moon remains intense as the two are seated second and third, tied with equal points.

After enjoying the day off on Wednesday (no breeze), teams were ready to go as PRO Peter 'Luigi' Reggio delivered three more races on Thursday with Gulari pretty much dominating the scene. A cold front ushered in just enough breeze for quality racing to take place.

Two final races to complete a series of ten are expected to be held on Friday and the breeze is forecasted to be in the 10-15 range.

Each day, postings will be made available on usmelges24.com and regular shorts will be made at the U.S. Melges 24 Facebook Page from the course.
