Worlds Bronze Winner From San Francisco Captures Danish Nationals

After 3 days of race in Frederikshavn in the northern part of Denmark, Team Soffe and Kim Christensen in DEN 782 made a solid win after having secured 6 first place finishes in a total of 8 races. The team started out securing a win in the first 5 races and it was therefore for the others to compete for the silver medal. Melges 24 Danish Nationals were held on August 22-24.

The battle for silver came to the last race where the local boat Melges.dk with Kris Houmann was able to capture the silver in front in Team Whoosah with helmsman Marc Wain.

The races were sailed in a nice breeze challenging the competitors with different conditions from waves to big shifts. The open Danish Nationals had an entry of 27 boats, with sailors from Sweden, Norway, Germany and Netherland’s. From the organizing authorities in Frederikhavn a big effort had been made in also keeping the event social a shore and from the sailors only praise was given for a great event and hope is that the class have been given a great boost in Denmark also with the fact in mind that the Worlds next year will be sailed in the water out from Middelfart in Denmark.
