UK Melges 24 Class making strong progress

December 28, 2015 - UK - The Melges 24 Class has undergone a significant reversal of its fortunes in the UK with the rapid growth in the number of boats class racing on the east coast. With twelve boats now based on the River Orwell at Suffolk Yacht Harbour the fleet is planning a full program of events, including a three day National Championship, to be run under the burgee of the Haven Ports Yacht Club and without doubt the Melges 24 Class now represents this prominent club's most active and competitive fleet.

There would appear to be the potential for a number of additional boats to join the fleet in time for the 2016 season and whilst the stock of available second hand boats in the UK is limited, a strong pound makes the purchase of a European boat an attractive proposition

The UK Class will be holding its AGM on January 6th at 19.30hrs (at Suffolk Yacht Harbour) to which Class members, new owners and interested sailors are welcome.
