26 March 2015 - Portoroz, Slovenia. The first stage of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2015 will be held this weekend on March 27-29. A truly international fleet will start their sailing season in the beautiful bay of Portoroz, Slovenia.
The International Melges 24 Class Association in co-operation with the Nordic Melges 24 Associations (Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark and Norway) are proud to announce a unique three year deal with Doyle Sails Finland for the Nordic Melges 24 Trophy.
Nordic Trophy was created for the Nordic Melges 24 countries to have a high entry level and quality event series in places that are attractable. The first season was sailed in 2013. The official was founded back then and by Floda Systemskylt AB.
Two more days until the end of the Early Bird entry fee deadline on March 22 for the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2015 first event in Portorož on March 26-29.
From 2014 Top 3 teams in Pro division Audi tron ITA-840 with Riccardo Simoneschi and Miles Quinton' Gill Race Team GBR-694; and in Pro Am division FGF Sailing Team HUN-728 with Bakóczy Róbert and Marusia UKR-819 with Dyvinets Oleg in helm will start their season in Portoroz. Miami, FL - 2015 Melges Rocks Regatta hosted by Coconut Grove Sailing Club was held on March 12-14 in Miami, Florida. The sailors met a beautiful breeze of 13-18 knots during three racing days. Warm temperatures and lots of Florida sunshine made it perfect to race on Biscayne Bay.
13 March 2015 - Miami, Florida, US - The venue for the 2016 Melges 24 World Championship was confirmed by the Executive Committee of the International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA) on March 12. Among four bids submitted to IM24CA by Sail Newport, Charleston Ocean Racing Association (CORA), Miami Yacht Club and St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Miami Yacht Club was voted to host the Melges 24 Worlds in November 2016.
This year the Melges 24 Canadian Nationals will take place in Windsor, Ontario, on July 10 - 12. Register early to help the organizers to make this a great event!
