Melges 24 Oyster Fest on Oyster Bay

31 OCtober 2015 - Oyster Bay, New York - Oakcliff Sailing Club hosted 70 sailors from around the US and five other countries sailing in fifteen MELGES24’s  inaugural MELGES24 Oyster Fest Regatta. This was another sensational, sunny and windy mid-October weekend (17-18 Oct), that featured six teams from Oakcliff Sailing Club, six new MELGES24’s from Brooklyn Bridge Sailing Club and a few new teams from Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club in a competitive fifteen boat MELGES24 fleet.

Many of he adendies stayed in the club’s recently upgraded training facility that features a full kitchen and 40 bed dormitory.

Oakcliff director Dawn Riley and training manager Elisabeth Shaw are encouraged by the big turnout and plan to host another MELGES24 regatta in late-April and mid-October of 2016.
