Melges 24 Europeans 2018 - Notice of Race is published
April 25, 2018 - Riva del Garda, Italy - A little bit more than three months until the Melges 24 European Championship 2018 to be hosted by the Fraglia Vela Riva in Riva del Garda, Italy on August 3-10. Online entry for the event has been open for a while and twenty two boats representing eleven countries have signed up already - Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine, United States of America!
Notice of Race of the event has been published also and you are invited to sign up for the Melges 24 European title event in one of the most favorite sailing spot - Lake Garda!
Event dates:
Friday 3 to Sunday 5 August: Measurement and Registration
Sunday 5 August: Practice Race and the Opening Ceremony
Monday 6 to Friday 10 August: 2018 Melges 24 European Championship
Deadlines to note in the Notice of Race:
June 1 - Payment until June 1, 2018 will be €. 750,00 (standard entry fee)
June 30 - Payment from June 2 to June 30, 2018 will be €. 850,00 (1st late surcharge)
July 15 - Payment from July 1 to July 15, 2018 will be €. 950,00 (2nd late surcharge)
- July 15 - Eligible boats may enter by completing online registration together with the required fee by Sunday July 15, 2018.
- July 15 - The closing date for the registration of Corinthian entries shall be July 15, 2018.
- July 15 - Sailors shall be registered with World Sailing prior to Sunday July 15, 2018 and be able to declare their World Sailing sailor ID and group number on the entry form (concerns Corinthian entries only).
- August 2 & 5 - Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate before the close of registration August 5, 2018. Documents may be submitted before registration i.e. by August 2 to IM24CA Administrator Piret Salmistu via email at piret@melges24.com.
Payments will be through the Fraglia Vela Riva web site: http://www.fragliavelariva.it/en/regatta/2449/view once you have filled the required fields it’s possible to finalize the payment by Credit Card, Paypal or bank transfer. If you follow the steps in a proper way and you will enter the competing boat's sail number with national letters. ie. ITA 000, you‘ll have a green advise of confirmation.
Credit card or cash payment during the final registration for late entries.
The entry form must be filled in paying attention to required fields in red and sent clicking on SEND at the bottom of the entry form. All entries when confirmed will be displayed on the event’s website. To save time and money at the secretary office we strongly suggest paying in advance through the website at the last step of the entry form online. If the procedure is completed properly together with the payment it will only take a few steps to complete the registration once you are there.
The boat already registered has just to log in again and click to the sail number of his boat and then choose the payment solution.
Permanent Bow Numbers: According to the new class rule permanent bow numbers will be required. In case there are some boats yet missing the bow numbers, then the files for each hull are ready and available by request from IM24CA Administrator Piret Salmistu at piret@melges24.com
Pre-events on Lake Garda
You have good chances to practice on Lake Garda before the Europeans when joining the regattas there since May already:
