2015 Key West Race Week Dates Confirmed

Key West, Florida Keys -- Classes and sailors from across the country and around the world already have Quantum Key West 2015 on the winter calendars. Boats ranging is size from 23 to 72 feet will compete in the waters off America's southernmost city during the 28th edition of Key West Race Week, scheduled for January 18-23.

Monsoon - Winner of Melges 24 Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week

Congratulations are in full order for Melges 24 Charleston Race Week Champion — Bruce Ayres and his Monsoon team of Mike Buckley, Jeff Reynolds, Brent Rhune and Jessica Koenig. After three days and seven races, never once did Ayres relinquish his overall lead. 

Local favorite Guy Mossman on Battle Rhythm fought hard and proud, submitting only one of two single-digit scorelines in the fleet to finish second overall.

Italian Melges 24 Series ACT1 Notice of Race Is Published

Series ACT 1 is organised by Yacht Club Punta Ala in co-operation with the Italian Sailing Federation, X-35 and Melges 24 Class Associations in Punta Ala on May 23-25, 2014. This year the event will be a part of the important Gavitello D'argento trophy. 

Charleston Race Week Ddraws Professional Sailors and Weekend Warriors

Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week started officially on Friday and continues through Sunday, April 11-13. There is fleet of 27 Melges 24 boats competing among 288 boats participating in this huge regatta. The regatta is set up for boats from 21 to 80 feet, though the longest boat competing this year is 51 feet.

"We were informed that the reigning Melges 24 world champion Flavio Favini suffered from a very risky accident when his balcony collapsed dropping him some 30 feet to the ground below in his house on the Lake Maggiore on Wednesday. Luckily, while suffering from several wounds and broken bones, he is not at risk.

We are close to him, his wife Paola and the whole family and we are looking forward to see him back on the race course soon!"

MKB Bank Melges 24 European Championship 2014 on Hungary’s Lake Balaton

1 April 2014 - Balatonfüred, Hungary. Taking place on central Europe’s largest lake, Hungary’s Lake Balaton, the MKB Bank Melges 24 European Championship 2014 which runs from May 2 - 9 has attracted a bumper entry from across the length and breadth of Europe. 

Altea with Andrea Racchelli Win Melges 24 Slovenian National Championship

An up and down breeze that never trully filled in at any point ensured for close knit racing on the final day of European Melges 24 sailing series in Portorož. Altea's three victories in a row saw the team open an advantage as Lenny (EST) and Audi (ITA) rounded off the podium.

Second day of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series regatta in Portorož has been dominated by light winds. Slowly but surely, the sea breeze started appearing in the bay of Piran around noon providing the fleet of 24 monotypes another great day of racing.
