Great Melges 24 Weekend On The Lake Rapel In Chile

Melges 24 Chilean Class did have a great regatta during the last weekend. Three races sailed on the lake Rapel, are part of the annual championship that sums 30 races around the year.

The fleet of 11 boats completed three races. Wind was very shifty coming from the South West with a velocity of 8 to 12 knots. It was fun but not easy to sail. In the afternoon the sailing day finished in the house of the Rubio's (owner of the Obsession) family with a great barbeque.

Most of the Melges 24 owners have houses around the lake Rapel so everybody gets ready from their houses and go to the starting line about 3:30 pm. Almost every day at the same time the South West winds that comes from the Pacific Ocean comes up to the Rapel Valley into the Lake Rapel and the fleet can go sailing.
