Audi tron Sailing Series Melges 24 - Day one winner is EFG

Porto Venere, May 1st 2015 – Audi tron Sailing Series Melges 24 day one races have just concluded under heavy rain and on and off breeze that saw EFG Bank (today, 1-1-4) of Chris Rast, Moth speed record, leading this provisional ranking with a five-point-margin over Audi tron (2-8-1) of Riccardo Simoneschi, “First of the Kings” in Loano, where the Audi tron Sailing Series officially started a month ago.

Temporary third on the podium the already Corinthian champions of Storm Capital Sail Racing (5-2-6), helmed by Norwegian Stian Briseid.

In the top five there's also space for Maidollis (11-3-2) of Gianluca Perego, on its seasonal debut with Fracassoli-Bianchi followed by Lenny (3-5-8) with 2-time-Olympic medal Tonu Toniste.

Racing will resume tomorrow late morning, with weather forecasts predicting a slight improvement with wind blowing 8-10 knots.

The Melges 24 “King of Poets” will be crowned on Sunday.
