November 24, 2015 - Miami, U.S. - The Winter Circuit Sailing Season is getting underway in Miami, FL, and the Melges 24 Class has several events there leading up to the 2016 Melges 24 World Championships next November.
November 23, 2015 - Australia - New boat owner Warwick Rooklyn seemed keen to compete and talked the talk. His Australian built boat Bandit was fully spec‘d up with the best of everything. Warwick was well known in Australian Sailing on many levels. On the racecourse Rooklyn presented a professional campaign, the crew looked slick and sailed fast, team Bandit was intimidating on and off the water.
November 19, 2015 - IM24CA - Extraordinary General Meeting was called to accept the draft of the new Constitution of the International Melges 24 Class Association on November 6. As a result of the discussions and long meeting the new constitution, a standard ISAF constitution template modified to our needs, was accepted by the fourteen National Classes attending the meeting. New constitution was approved by ISAF on November 18, 2015.
On November 14 and 15 the third act of the Chilean Melges 24 Ranking Series was held. Nine teams were in Algarrobo, Pacific Ocean and with wind between 8 and 13 knots and 10ft waves Magic Marine of Pablo Gallyas found the way to beat the pack. Krill with Hernan Serrano at the helm ended the race as the second and Centurion of Juan Ramon Moral closed the podium as the third.
November 16, 2015 - Kelowna, B.C, Canada - Kelowna Yacht Club will host the 2016 Melges 24 Canadian National Championship from June 24-26 in Kelowna, B.C. The special class of boat, a 24-foot light high-performance racer, will be sailed by all competitors in the championships that promises the fastest race speeds seen on Okanagan Lake.
