In November of 1994, Yachting Magazine consultant Gary Jobson asked Peter Craig, “how hard can it be? Just raise some flags and blow off some guns.” And so began Craig’s involvement in what was then a 112-boat single division regatta that would soon evolve into an iconic annual international keelboat event. Yachting Magazine founded Key West Race Week in 1987.
Milano, February 25th 2015 - Loano, Portovenere, Riva del Garda, Porto Ercole, Trapani, Genova: these are the 2015 Audi tron Sailing Series sailing venues chosen by Bpse for the supporting four rings automobile manufacturer. The series considered as a reference sailing circuit by all organising bodies and teams this year will be opening up its doors to all Melges 24 specialists and PRO Drivers, challenging together with the Audi Melges 20 and Melges 32 fleet.
With the championship expected to easily attract as many as 50 teams, a host of industry partners and performance racing companies pledge sponsorship support. Gorge-ous event is on its way to becoming the biggest Melges 24 US Nationals to date.
Melges 24 youngster Luke Stephens, 22, has taken out his first state championship in a senior class after a resounding victory in the South Australian Melges 24 state championships at Adelaide Sailing Club over the weekend.
In light and difficult conditions over the three days, Stephens won three of the five races, holding off veteran Robin Deussen in a close battle.
